The Senior Operations Manager (SOM) is an experienced logistics professional, well-organized and self-directed with a hands-on approach to enhancing efficiencies and profitability. This person can relate to people at all levels of an organization and they possess excellent communication skills. Serving as a mentor to strengthen the skill level of their team, the SOM will continue to learn and grow within their role. This individual is perceptive, has a proven ability to lead and promotes positive change. We are looking for someone who won't simply delegate, but who is excited to jump in to the active routing of freight from and to destinations across the globe. Responsibilities
The key to this role is to set goals that are aligned with company processes and policies and to successfully execute against these goals.- Safe, complaint and profitable operations of the station
- Directs, plans and coordinates all operational and administrative activities, including not limited to: managing for continuous improvement, quality service, and exceeding customer expectations
- Full station operations including developing and driving sales and profitable growth
The Successful Candidate will:
- Establish operations standards for ROI, cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety and on-time delivery
- Establish optional policies, material usage, shipping and receiving, capacity planning, productivity, safety, customer satisfaction, employee relations and performance measures
- Build, develop and manage a team to achieve growth and hit sales targets
- Design and implement a strategic business plan that expands the company’s customer base
- Lead a team capable of executing the Airgroup Logistics freight forwarding and WMS services, while enhancing employee relations and company morale
- Provide leadership for problem resolution that will facilitate continuous improvements, Airgroup’s service products and improve working relationships
- Establish credibility throughout all levels of the organization as an effective leader and developer of creative solution to business challenges
- Participate in the development of the Annual Operations Business Plan that is focused on sales, marketing, administration and finance constraints
- Posses solid verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively within different levels of the organization and customers
- Develop and implement processes that utilize high performance work principles
- Exceptional expertise and experience with all aspects of routing and management within all modes of commercial transportation
- In-depth knowledge of domestic and international supply chain
Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- 5-10 years of management experience and routing product around the world
- a minimum of 5 years of logistics industry experience
