International Account Manager

Full Time – San Diego, CA

Our International Account Manager will be fully cross-trained to competently handle all types of International shipments which includes but is not limited to: air, ocean, intermodal, hazardous and regulated/licensed commodities.

Success at Airgroup involves:

  • Proficient knowledge of import/export compliance and trade regulations
  • Effectively communicates current and relevant compliance and trade regulations to team members and clients
  • Maintains compliant on AES /ISF to ensure error free protocol
  • Successfully manages International shipments from point A to point B ensuring effective solutions are presented to the client to meet their specific requirements
  • Arranges bookings with airlines, ocean carriers, co-loaders and all relevant parties
  • Remaining current on compliance and trade regulations through the Journal of Commerce and other provided resources with the ability to research the unknowns...and pro-actively shares with clients, team members and colleagues
  • Maintains at all times a professional, friendly and pro-active demeanor with clients and prospective clients via all methods of communication. Creates a second-to-none rapport with our clients and prospects that establishes trust, confidence and the desire to do business with our company
  • Maintains active vendor/agent relationships and optimizes pricing through rate negotiations
  • Works in partnership with clients/prospects to educate, define, document, and optimize their International Supply Chain
  • Stays on top of daily incoming emails addressing/responding to requests from customers, vendors and agents in a timely manner and according to Company standards
  • Accurately updates electronic shipping details and meets both internal and client milestone requirements
  • Collects, validates and distributes documentation to ensure timely invoicing of shipments
  • Provides superior Transportation & Logistics solutions and service for our customers for as regards notifications, shipments, claims and more.

 

Desired Skills, Experience & Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year college/technical school and/or 2-3 years related industry experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience...though for the right person, we would consider someone new to the field
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Superior active listening skills
  • High energy and results driven
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well in a team environment
  • Proficiency with the MS Office Suite, internet navigation, and Email
  • Experience working autonomously

Certificates, Licenses & Registrations:

  • Successful completion of TSA test
  • Approved STA 
  • Dangerous Good Certification for employees handling Dangerous Goods Cargo (as needed or assigned)
